Capturing Nature's Beauty
Dave Peters
I am a self-taught photographer, who has always had a keen interest in both photography, wildlife and the natural world.
From the age of four, I have had a keen interest in the natural world. I have built up an extensive knowledge of my subject matter, including important locations as well as honing my fieldcraft skills.
I am a firm believer that every day brings me opportunities to learn more about nature and enhance my photography skills.
As a wildlife photographer driven by a deep passion for reconnecting people with Britain’s lost and returning species. My work focuses on capturing intimate, authentic moments with animals that are often elusive, misunderstood, or making a comeback after centuries of absence.
Two of my most meaningful projects have documented the historic return of the white-tailed eagle—witnessing the first naturally born fledgling in England in over 200 years—and the Eurasian beaver, a species I tracked for over a decade before finally filming it in the wild alongside my father. These moments were more than just rare encounters—they were emotional, humbling reminders of the resilience of nature and the power of patience.
Through stills and film, I aim to tell stories that not only inspire wonder but also raise awareness about the importance of wild spaces and species recovery in the UK. My goal is to build a body of work that supports conservation and invites others to see these incredible animals not as distant relics of the past, but as active participants in our shared landscape today.
